Just a quick post to remind you all that you can use Traumeel Gel or Traumeel Ointment on horse fly bites.

We keep a large Traumeel in the school. It may sit there for a number of weeks not being used but then suddenly it gets used.

This morning working with my daughters in the school our youngest, Sasha, got some horrible horse fly bites on her shoulder and arms. She quickly applied Traumeel Gel on them and then late morning showed me how they had completely gone down, there was no:-

redness

itching

swelling

no irritation at all

Sometimes I take Traumeel for granted and other times even I forget to use it….

But what a great remedy it is.

It covers so many ailments right down to treating horse fly bites with Traumeel. I can end up becoming quite ‘lazy’ as it covers so many ailments.

Safe for Children to Use

It was so lovely to see my daughter using Traumeel which is a safe remedy/cream of her own accord, and knowing that this would most likely alleviate and treat her horse bite symptoms.

Why I love it

Just so easy – this is what they have been bought up to use as a first aid treatment and it means in most cases it is used and so can help them with those sore everyday irritating symptoms and conditions which occur from time to time.

Understandably I get many questions on how, when and what to use Traumeel on. Recently I have been asked is Traumeel good for Fibromyalgia.

Enclosed are my thoughts and I hope this will be of value to anyone suffering from this debilitating condition.

The Question:-

Is Traumeel good for the treatment of Fibromyalgia?

Dear ______,

Thank you for contacting us. Traumeel is certainly a remedy that I would recommend and use to help with the symptoms of Fibromyalgia. It is difficult to say whether Traumeel alone will be enough to resolve your symptoms completely.

The only true answer would be to try it.

I have found over the years that everyone responds so differently. If you have had fibromyalgia for a long time you will need to give Traumeel a chance to work, the time frame I use is 8-12 weeks before coming to any definite conclusions. You may in addition need to supplement Traumeel with other treatments such as e.g. dietary changes, vitamins and minerals and exercises depending on the degree of pain and the symptoms you are experiencing.

On the plus side you have nothing to loose by taking Traumeel but have everything to gain. By this I mean it can only do good, it can do no harm and has no side effects and is not toxic.

As to Which Traumeel Product to Use

As to which Traumeel products to use – I would take it internally taking the tablets (or drops) and then support this with the ointment.

You can use the ointment 2-3 times a day if necessary on the areas where you are experiencing the most pain and discomfort.

Just a quick post that has come in from Sweden from a horse owner which is worth reading.

I continue to find these stories amazing and am always so grateful when horse owners are able to give me some of their valuable time and write to me. So here it is:-

I have just bought an ex race horse from the track (thoroughbred), and she is stiff and has problems moving. I have tried a lot now, and as I was going to get help from a friend to treat this horse’s rain rot she gave me a couple of these Traumeel ampules, and I gave them to the horse. The horse did not only move better, but she also healed her rain rot!

Now, I would like to have Traumeel at home all the time as I still have accuring problems with this mare, and I also have 10 more horses.

I obviously have many discussions on health queries and using Traumeel. I have included the case history below which I think will be of interest and worth reading for anyone who wants to know more about Traumeel and whether it can help them.

The Complaint and Question

I have rheumatic patches that have just become inflamed – possibly due to dietary factors. it is very painful and I have read that Traumeel Gel or Ointment might be effective relief. I have used Traumeel Tabs. for dental problems and found them useful. So I am keen to try the Gel for the rheumatic patches. I live in the UK.

My Recommendations

It would certainly be worthwhile trying Traumeel for these types of symptoms/complaints. I would recommend you use the Tablets or drops and support this with the Gel or Ointment.

Results So Far

I’m so pleased you were able to get my order to me so quickly.

I am using the Traumeel Gel and Traumeel Tablets and am finding I have been able to reduce the use of my painkillers to just two, during the night the first night I used the Gel, and haven’t used any pain meds. at all today, apart from the Traumeel.

This is great.

For though I think there is a place for pharmaceutical pain relief, I’m also aware that codeine slows my bowel and paracetamol interferes with the body detox system and I am keen to avoid overuse of these preparations.

Here is a quick post on strained muscle and strained muscle treatment.

Case History….!

As many of you may know a great deal of my time is taken up with horses, whether riding, training playing with them or trimming their hooves.

On Thursday I felt a slight strain in the belly of the muscle on my upper left arm. What did I do? I completely ignored it and thought it would just go away…!

As you can imagine I have plenty of Traumeel here but in this instance I did not even use it….! There are times when we just don’t listen to our bodies, this being one of those times…!

The next day it was still there, slightly aching. I then thought – OK maybe a bit of Traumeel is needed – so I quickly used the ointment and carried on with a filled morning which was quite physical and involved working with a tricky horse. I noticed when riding that it was still aching, again, I slightly ignored it….

Then late in afternoon after a busy day, I could feel the whole of my left arm seizing up….! So finally I took on board that I needed to address the problem and put into practice my work and strained muscle treatment whihc is what I am always advising others to do…..

What I Recommend and What I Use for Strained Muscle Treatment.

1.) Traumeel Ointment

2.) Traumeel Drops and at the initial stages every 30 minutes.

3.) Hot or Cold depending on your preferences. I draw no strict guidelines here. Some people find hot others find cold good. I personally find hot very soothing, so a hot water bottle in this instance.

4.) Some gentle stretching but if it is in acute spasm you will have to wait until it has calmed down – this can be anything from waiting a few hours to a day or two. But gentle movement within your pain threshold is usually always good. In my case I had to wait 24 hours before I could do any gently stretching.

Then work from the outside in towards the tighter more painful region slowly.

5.) Louse Hay – a quick peak into her wonderful book to try and find out what is going on in my head. The arms represent “the capacity and ability to hold the experiences of life.” I was able to look through my past week and find out what things had been bothering me and I had unbeknown built up tensions with my upper back, shoulders and arms which had resulted in this tight spasm in the upper arm.

When you start using Louise Hay’s book it is so good – just use it like a reference book.

6.) I often find bandaging an area that is sore – gives it some protection and support. So I used a bandage which felt very comforting.

7.) Gentle massage around the area.

If you do not have some one who can do this there are many self massage items that are worth investing from small balls to even using tennis balls if you are able to lie on them….

In Addition

That evening I was in acute pain and had to use a sling…very boring. I knew I needed rest and sleep but was not sure how I was going to get to sleep. So this is when I become conventional, I took painkillers and a herbal sleeping remedy and I managed to sleep all through the night.

I them rested the next day and slept and by lunchtime I was virtually better. I was then able to do some stretching which I continued on doing throughout the weekend just gently. I continued with the Traumeel Drops and Ointment throughout the weekend until fully better.

If nothing else remember this lesson – get any injury fully better, don’t skimp at this stage.

By Sunday I was fully better.

What I Find So Rewarding

This is what I find so rewarding – using the basics of homeopathic treatment in this case Traumeel, conventional medicine as a ‘one off’ if necessary in order to get sleep and rest which is often so desperately needed in many of these types of injuries.

Then the use of hydrotherapy, hot and or cold.

Strained Muscle Treatment – The Result

The result going from extreme pain and disabilty to being completely better within 24- 48 hours. This is how I use Traumeel alongside other things.

The Lesson

If you are sore, however small – don’t ignore those aches and pains. Your body is trying to tell you something listen early, look after, care and treat yourself.

Check in with your emotions to find out what is going on inside you that you have ignored or not realized was upsetting you and sort it. This is in my opinion is how you can prevent chronic problems from occurring and this is how you can treat successful strained muscles.

Further Reading

If you go to this post, In Addition to Traumeel, I explain further how I use Louise Hays Book.

Why Buy and Use Traumeel – A Natural First Aid Remedy

The reason I rate this remedy so highly is that it can be used for so many conditions. If you are worried about using chemical drugs and are wanting to find a natural alternative that can be used for a vast amount of conditions – you need look no further.

List of Everyday Ailments that Traumeel Can be Used For

Below is a small list of just some of the many conditions that I will prescribe Traumeel for:

Arthritis – in humans or animals

Low Back Pain

Bruising and Stiffens from falls

Strained Ribs

Joint Problems – swollen stiff joints,

Strained muscles after exercising

After operations to help with recuperation

Preparing for Surgery

Cold Sores

Minor Injuries

Before Birth and after Birth for any strained sore areas.

Fractures

Chronic Tension Headaches

This does not mean to say this is all that you need for the above but Traumeel can be the first homeopathic remedy that you could use for all of the above and many other conditions.

So often Traumeel will work so well that you will not need to explore and find other remedies, but sometimes it is not enough by itself.

Then you may well need to do additional work to recover, this may be in the form of exercises, rest, some hands on treatment, emotional support, counseling etc. But alongside all of these treatments you can continue to use and take Traumeel safely as it helps the body repair and heal itself.

If you want more information on Traumeel go to What is Traumeel

Other Homeopathic Remedies

There are many wonderful homeopathic remedies available and I would do a dis-service to homeopathy if these were not used.

The advantage of having and using Traumeel is that it can help with the acute stage of injuries, pain and inflammation and so often it is these types of symptoms that cause everyday health problems and discomforts.

An Irritating and miserable symptom which can occur in the winter months, in children and adults.

What are Chilblains…?

Chilblains are sore spots that usually occur on fingers and toes or though they can occur in other parts of the body, eg. thighs.

They are sore, itchy and inflammed and occur when an individual is exposed to cold and humidity. The cold exposure damages the capillary (little blood vessel), beds in the skin which in turn causes localized inflammation. This sore spots, known as chilblains, can take up to 10 days to a fortnight to heal.

Prevention

Avoid rapid changes in temperatures – eg:-

Having very hot baths when you are cold,

Having hot water bottles and keeping them just on your feet and toes.

Getting cold hands and feet then warming them up too quickly. e.g. in front of fires, and electric heaters etc.

Wearing tight restrictive clothing in the winter which reduces circulation to areas which then get very cold, e.g. tight trousers, tight socks etc

Wearing Synthetic clothing, especially socks which don’t allow the skin to breathe, e.g. wearing synthetic socks and then getting cold damp feet. Wearing woollen socks prevents this from occurring.

Treatment

Apply Traumel Gel or Traumeel Cream on the area twice a day.

Chilblains respond extremely well to traumeel. If you do this and at the same time become aware of what causes chilblains, as listed above, and so take measures to try and prevent them from reoccurring at the same time.

Our Experience

This is not difficult for you to guess why I have written this blog in the middle of winter here in the UK! As you can probably guess what I did when Sasha one of our daughters complained of chillbalins in her toes late one evening… I quickly found our Traumeel Ointment and applied it on the sore areas.

The next day we treated them again and by that evening they had gone. Yet again- another fine example of why I use Traumeel – it just works so successfully for so many ailments and is such a great natural painkiller.

Of course there are many other items on the market but I have not yet found one that covers such a vast amount of ailments quite so effectively and is not chemical based…..

I am asked numerous questions about Traumeel, natural anti inflammatory, this recent question I felt has not been fully answered on the site. So here is the question and my reply…

The Question

Thank you for all your expertise and passing on of knowledge of using traumeel for horses. I do have a question re: the actual way in which it is given.

I always understood that homeopathic medicines were not to be given with food and/or strong tasting liquids. My mare won’t eat the tablets out of my hand. The recommendation for the tincture is to put it in their feed.

So, what’s the scoop?

Thank you,
Sienna

What Heel Say

Heel say,” Tablets – they have no intrinsic taste and it is possible to mix them with a little water without them losing their effectiveness, it is preferable to administer them between meals.

In cases where this does not work for you, you can mix Traumeel tablets with a little honey and spread it on the part of the animal where it tends to lick itself, the same applies with the drops.

Another possibility is to insert the drops or tablets into a small amount of food, or with horses in to a piece of dry bread, carrot or apple…”

How We Give Traumeel to Horses

If we are giving Traumeel to horses we give them the tablets with a few whole oats. This is a very easy way to give them the tablets. The oats are not strong smelling or strong tasting so will not anti-dote the Traumeel. If you are not happy to use whole oats then alternatively you could try cutting up bits of carrot or bits of apple and mixing this with the tablets.

(We also use the ampules as this then resolves all the problems with giving Traumeel by mouth.)

Other Suggestions of Administering Traumee to Your Horsesl

You could try mixing the drops or tablets with warm water and honey.

Secondly you could mix up the Traumeel drops with water and then spray it onto and around your horses muzzle and the mucus membranes around his/her mouth.

What I Would Not Do

What I would not do is give Traumeel with strong smelling food or alongside peppermint as this is a known antidote so Traumeel will then not work for your horse.

I am often asked about chronic tension headaches and what the best treatment is. So I will give you my overview of what I would recommend.

Diagnosis

Firstly with headaches I would always advise you see your Doctor to make sure there is no underlying problem, in other words get a diagnosis and get yourself checked over.

If having done this and the headaches are coming from tension I would then suggest the following.

Exercises for Chronic Tension Headaches

1.) Start doing some daily exercises to relieve any tension building up in the muscles at the base of your neck and going upwards – in other words all the muscles at the back of your neck and as well as around the shoulders.

There are numerous stretches that you can do which will help reduce tension in the these muscles. Apart from stretching I would also do some light contractions – so stretch and contract the area.

This helps reduce tension and increase the blood flow to the neck and head which is extremely important.

Diet

2.) Diet – this is always important with ones health.

There is a tremendous amount of information on good diets and how to eat well and hence a subject that is to big to properly cover in this post.

However – very simply whatever you choose to eat I would always recommend salads and vegetables and drinking water form part of your daily consumption and the less processed and the more whole looking your food is the better it is going to be.

If you live of fast foods, junk drinks, loads of coffee, alcohol and cigarettes you are going to be creating health problems, tension headaches just being one of the many side effects that is likely to occur.

Psychology

What I Have Found When Doing This

3.) Then look into your lifestyle and try and find out what is causing the tension headaches. What are your concerns and worries? Are you addressing them or hoping they will just go away? If you are not addressing them it is unlikely they will just go away…

So often once a problem is faced it is not as scary and as bad as we believe it to be.

Whatever the problem, the worry, or sadness, face it and work out what you can do to try and resolve your problems. One thought I keep in my head is, “if it wasn’t impossible what would I do”, then whatever answer you come up with go and do this…..

Louise Hay in “You Can Heal Your Life”,” says headaches are about, “Invalidating the Self and Self-criticism. Fear.”

She goes on to say the positive of this, is to say and think,” I love and approve of myself. I see myself and what I do with eyes of love. I am safe.”

Remedies for Headaches

4.) Remedies – Traumeel is ideal in helping with chronic headaches. You can take the drops or the tablets and then supplement this by using the Traumeel Gel or Ointment.

Massage the ointment around the base of your neck and on the temples, if you have someone who can help you then also apply it to your upper back and shoulder area.

You can use the Gel/Ointment twice a day and the tablets or drops 3 times a day until symptoms resolve.

Please Contact Us if you wish to Buy Traumeel Drops/Tablets/Gel or Ointment.

Other Treatment

5.) You can also explore and find many alternative treatments which will further help you.

Osteopathy and cranial osteopathy/chiropractic treatments can all go a long way to helping tension headaches, so can acupuncture, reflexology, aromatherapy and massage.

It will depend on who there is locally who can help you and how much you want to spend. All these treatments are good – but you can go along way without any of them if you do the above recommendations.

Rest and Sleep

6.) Rest and Sleep – sounds so simple but this is so important yet so often we don’t get good rest and sleep.

It is hugely beneficial, if you are not getting the rest and sleep you need then make a note and rectify this – it will really help.

To Summarize

6.) If you do all of the above you should be well on your way to resolving your tension headaches. It goes without saying that if you are consuming alcohol and smoking both of these things are likely to slow down your improvement in my opinion.

Please Contact Us if you wish to Buy Traumeel Drops/Tablets/Gel or Ointment.

Traumeel tablets (or drops) and Traumeel ointment offers the best natural pain relief that I have come across since working as a Naturopathic practitioner.

Traumeel tablets can be used for regular use and Traumeel ointment can be used for areas of localized pain, swelling and stiffness.

Muscle aches, pains and bruising are common with minor injuries but they don’t have to be incapacitating. When life must go on, there is a natural safe way to alleviating pain without popping potentially harmful ibprofuen or naproxen or other drug based painkillers that are freely available on the market today.

Whether recent studies about liver-damaging pain killers prove true or not, there’s no need to take part in these case studies. Whether you need temporary relief of minor aches and pains associated with sports injuries, sprains, muscle aches and bruises, or minor arthritic pain and inflammation Traumeel is the natural alternative homeopathic anti-inflammatory.

There maybe times when painkillers are necessary -hopefully not often but if so how lucky we are to be living in a time when we can use them.

However, I always think of painkillers as a very last resort and will instead first use and prescribe Traumeel products as well as doing hydrotherapy (hot, cold ice etc) on injuires. There are many many situations when this has been all that I/we have needed to do.

I may also include:-

massage,

gently therapeutic exercising,

the use of essential oils

in addition to traumeel and hot and cold and even if then painkillers were still needed to be used the amount and frequency of consuming them I have found is greatly reduced, by using the best natural painkillers, Traumeel.
